In 1954, Achiel Floré sets up the horticultural company Floré in Lochristi, the centre of azalea and begonia cultivation.


In 1964 his children Etienne, Irène, Marc, Luc and Geert Floré join the company.


n 1981, new commercial greenhouses and offices are opened. The production and trade activities are separated by the formation of the trading company Floréac.



In 1985, the group is expanded with Microflor, a tissue cultivation laboratory.


In 1987, Floréac Nederland is set up to support the group's purchasing activities in the Netherlands.


Since 1989, FTO has been responsible for the transport activities of the group. The production capacity has also expanded in this time span.


From the 1990s, the third generation of the Floré family joined the family business.


The SAP computer system was implemented in 1999 to create a more efficient and better integrated working between the various departments. The Floréac computer network opened the doors to e-commerce: from 2000, suppliers were able to monitor their orders online on the Floréac computer network.

 

In 2002 the acclimatization division of Microflor NV (plantlets) moves to new acclimatization greenhouses of 2ha.


 


In 2006, the current Floréac NV building, a 3.2 ha pioneering logistics platform, was put into use..

 

 

In September 2008, Floréac decided to collaborate extensively with Horticept, a Dutch plant exporter specialised in garden plants.


In the spring of 2009, the purchasing organisation Ostroplant was established for the purchase of Mediterranean plants in Sicily.


In July 2009, Floréac Nederland and Horticept moved to a newly constructed building at the FloraHolland auction site in Naaldwijk.
